Xzibit would be so proud of this truck. I almost can hear him saying "so I put two sticks in your truck, so you can shift while you shift"

By the way, this is a brazilian truck called FNM D11000. FNM stands for Fábrica Nacional de Motores (National Engine Factory), and it produced these trucks and Alfa Romeos for brazilian people.

But why? 1/2 gears?

These trucks had two gearboxes, one for the lower and other for the higher gears. But you had to use both, sometimes two at the same time in some combination to fully use the engine power.

These aren't that unusual, but the placement of the high/low shifter is weird.

When I was a contractor, we had 2 trucks with dual boxes. Great for real heavy loads or when off road. Something like this but not so long shifters.

The stick on the dash looks like a splitter. You basically have a high and low of each gear. The guy looks like he gives it a couple of tries to get each of the H pattern shifts into gear though. The transmission probably isn't synchronized either which is why he's revving it all the time.

Kind of like an overdrive switch that you can find on the Volvo P1800.
